Iziko Lobomi Skills Training

Training in various skills takes place at the Centre on an ongoing basis. Over the years adult men and women, young and old, have been trained in valuable skills such as sewing, fabric painting, beading work, cooking, pottery, computer literacy, leatherwork, woodwork, mosaic and food gardening.

Men and woman also have the opportunity to earn incomes from their newly acquired skills by selling their goods to residents of the community and visitors to the Centre. They come to the Centre everyday and make use of the facilities (at a small charge from the HBCCA to cover electricity and wear and tear on equipment).

There are currently four groups, which are very active and successful. They are the sewing, mosaic, leatherwork and kitchen groups.
