Gartner Computer Room Gets A Facelift and Upgrade!

The Gartner Computer Room at Iziko Lobomi which was started in 2004 has received welcome facelift and upgrade during the month of August 2014. Twelve brand new Windows 8 personal computers were installed, all sponsored by IT Management Advisory Service (Pty) Ltd trading as Gartner Africa.

Tebogo Backward, a talented local resident from Imizamo Yethu approached Gartner Africa ten years ago requesting their help and sponsorship of the facility. Hundreds of school children and adults have received training in this facility over the years making it one of the busiest and most popular rooms at Iziko Lobomi.

A BIG thank you to Gartner Africa for making it possible to provide an invaluable service to young and old in Imizamo Yethu. Congratulations also to Tebo for running this facility with so much dedication and enthusiasm all these years.

'After the fire I was ready to give up, and Jevas was devastated...'

Lynn Nadauld, owner of Iziko Lobomi's Craft Shop

After an email request was sent out to all our supporters worldwide, Australia AIDS South Africa (AASA) www.aasain.com responded by offering financial help to assist Lynn in the restoration of her shop. Although AASA's main mission is to assist those in South Africa affected by HIV/Aids their board also provide financial assistance to community organisations that promote prevention of HIV/Aids infections through educational programmes. Funds were received in December 2013 and after four months of hard work the shop was restored to its former glory!

Thank you AASA !
